On offer is an original German Winterhilfswerk (Winter Relief Programme) plastic 'tinnie' of a U-boat submarine. This is the single sided type with triangle at the back to allow piece to stand. Condition is excellent.
These were sold over a few days to raise money for a charity helping needy Germans survive the winter by providing food and clothing. They were sold in a series to encourage donations and for the donors to keep giving to collect the full set. They were designed to be worn and also to show you regularly contributed to the charity.
