You are viewing an original Wehrmacht Heer M35 stahlhelm, a collectable relic from World War II, and one of the most recognized icons of the period.
Marked on the inside, left rim of the steel dome is the factory abbreviation and size‘ET66’. This denotes the factory was Eisenhuttenwerke, Thale. The rear rim of the helmet is marked with the numeric factory production code but only the last digit ‘2’ is legible.
The liner system is the M1931 with aluminium band and size markings 59 just visible on the leather. All eight leather fingers are present, each with five ventilation holes and there is plenty of wear. The liner appears correctly secured with three brass retaining rivets. Maker marks are not clear without pulling out the liner. The chinstrap is two-piece, natural on one side, black on the other and also shows wear. It is secured with aluminium rivets and single prong buckle. It is secured to the liner band with ‘D’ rings. The end of the chin strap is marked ‘R Larsen Berlin 1938’.
The helmet has been painted apple green. It displays plenty of wear and some rust, although the rust now looks inert. The owner has scratched their name into the paint on the inside of the rear rim, it is barely l egible but looks like 'JKoln'.
I have cleaned the helmet and protected the dome with natural beeswax, but otherwise it is as I bought it.
I am happy to ship internationally, recorded delivery. Please ask any questions before bidding. Please view the pictures closely – bought as seen and as I am a private seller, no returns. Please note the stand is not included in the sale. Finally please note any bidder agrees to use this helmet for historical reasons only and not for propaganda purposes.
Thanks for looking, grab yourself a very collectable WW II relic.
