WWII - M1 GARAND BAYONET - NORMANDY FOUND

Offered for sale is an original World War Two U.S.Army M1 ‘Garand’ bayonet recovered in Normandy. In 1943 the U.S. Army decided that a shorter bayonet would be better than the existing 16in blades found on the M1905/M1942 bayonets. So as many of these bayonets as possible were recalled, had their blades cut down to 10ins, and were re-issued. These shortened bayonets, along with newly made 10in bayonets, were issued and are called M1 bayonets.This bayonet has an overall length of 36cm with a blade length of 24cm (10 inches).This original World War Two U.S. Army M1 ‘Garand’ bayonet was recovered from UTAH BEACH, Normandy, in 2009 and is being offered in relic condition.It would make a superb addition to a collection of militaria or associated memorabilia.Packaging and Shipping costs for UK & Europe are 5EUR for up to 100g, and 20EUR for up to 2Kg.
