The Army Marksmanship Lanyards were instituted to replace the Wiemar Marksmanship sleeve stripes. This is an example of the 2nd style lanyard, grade 1. This is a great quality example with bright bullion and oak leaf wreath, crossed swords and eagle badge. The badge shows a bit of patina in the recesses, and the field gray wool backing is near perfect. The entire reverse of the braided portion is covered with silver grey artificial silk, which helped to protect the tunic from residue from the bullion, showing some minor nips. Overall the piece shows very minor age and the moth nips, but displays well.
