AFRIKA KORPS AT WAR 2. The Long Road Back By George Forty Soft Cover
Description
128 pages, over 100 photographs
This second volume of Africa Korps at War continues the story from January 1942 and details the history of Rommel’s efforts to destroy the Eighth Army. He had no intention of remaining on the defensive any longer than was absolutely necessary. As soon as he had received sufficient reinforcements, he attacked with the tactical brilliance he had demonstrated in 1941 and was within a stones throw of winning the most glittering prize of all – the Suez Canal. Such an achievement would have undoubtedly have changed the whole course of the war. But it was not to be.
