GERMAN FELDJAGERKORPS GORGET (WEHRMACHT POLICE)

Description

Reproduction of the Feldjagerkorps gorget as worn by the Wehrmacht. This superb quality gorget is made of aluminum alloy and features the correct, high relief Army Eagle in phosphorescent paint finish, just like the originals. The aluminum linked chain is also correctly made and attached, making an excellent quality reproduction for reenacting for a collection.

Feldgendarmeri and Feldjager were often known as “Kettenhunde” (chain dogs) in reference to their duties and the wearing of the gorget that suspended from a chain around their neck,

This was a unique elite military police unit that answered only to the supreme command of the German army. They were asked to hunt down deserters, arrest looters, soldiers and insubordinates The Feldjager were manned with battle experienced officers, NCO’s and tough and dedicated soldiers. They were given the power to arrest anyone who could not prove a satisfactory explanation for their absence from duty.
