Description
Donation pin in the shape of a plane with the inscription of “Das Deutsche Volk muss volk von fliegern werden-Hermann Göring” which translated to English is “The German people have to fly by the people Hermann Göring “. Hermann Göring was a german commander in chief of the Luftwaffe( airforce). The pin has a struck steel construction with pin to rear measuring 35mm x 30mm.
The WHW, “Winterhilfswerk” (Winter-help-work), was an annual charitable donation event held by the “NS-Volkswohlfahrt” (National Socialist – Peoples’-welfare) in which personnel from all of the NSDAP organizations would solicit donations from the public, and reward contributors with a wide variety of lapel badges or propaganda booklets
The organization would go door to door selling these pins for one or two pfennig.
