Description
This WW2 3rd class wound badge is a die-struck hollow enameled stamped steel badge. This excellent condition badge has little signs of wear and retains 95 % of its original matte black paint finish.
This black wound badge has no maker marks but is original era manufactured and also comes with it’s original issued paper envelope.
The wound badge is a commonly issued badge for those wounded once or twice by hostile action or frostbitten in the line of duty.
Originally established by the Kaiser Wilhelm II in WW1 for wounded soldiers who suffered frost bite. In 1943, during WWII it was awarded to any soldier that was wounded during active service.
