U.S. WW2 Paratrooper embroidered cap badge as worn by the 101st and 82nd Airborne and glider troops during the D-day invasion .
The US officer cap patch was worn on the standard issues USGI wool overseas cap.
Officers wore the cap badge on the right side of the side cap and the patch was worn on the left side by enlisted men.
The patch features a sky blue background with red outer circle and white parachute with glider.
