Description
This is an Officers Version of the Denison Smock with a full zipper. Worn by British WWII Paratroopers. Hand woven material-custom printed camouflage, custom made Newey snaps and Lighting zipper. Angora wool lined collar and wool knit cuffs.
The camouflaged Denison Smock, was developed by the British Army in late 1941. Also known as the Airborne Smock.
This smock was popular among senior officers, including those who had no connection with airborne forces but could use their influence to obtain an item of clothing that was supposed to be confined to either parachute or commando troops. Montgomery frequently wore a full-zip version with a fur collar, as did General Miles Dempsey commanding the British Second Army.
