Description

The Greyback shirt was standard issue to the British Army during WW1

Made of blue-grey cotton flannel with buttoned half front .

Was collar less with a strip of cotton so as not to irritate the soldiers neck.

Lightly used in a church play in Florida to re-enact the Christmas truce of 1914

 In the midst of war and fighting, soldiers along the western front stopped fighting in an unofficial cease fire on Christmas. The truce took place along the western front in France where the Germans were fighting both the British and the French.
