BADEN WAR SERVICE GERMAN WW2 RIBBON BAR – ORIGINAL
Description
This is an original German Baden War Service ribbon bar – 2nd version. To be attached to a medal pin to “bar”. Pick and choose ribbon bars for you own unique military dress uniform bar. The size of this ribbon is 1.5 cm. Fair condition.
Small ribbon bars where issued to military personnel as an award for military service just as the larger medals and ribbons would be. They were to be worn in place of having to wear the actual larger ribbons. Each ribbon bar is normally mounted in a row on a small metal bar for attachment to their jacket. During war times soldiers also used scraps or uniform or insignia backing material. Ribbon bars may also come with an attached miniature medal (pin) mounted to the corresponding ribbon.
