A private wartime German WWII Wehrmacht soldier’s photo album with 177 beautiful war time pictures.
With various scenes and topics involving Army personnel photographed throughout the European theatre, both urban and rural, including: soldiers and officers while training, marching, in groups and at play, along with flak, artillery, tanks, aircraft, trucks, automobiles, destroyed buildings, funerals, graveyards, women friends and travel scenes containing 177 black and white gloss finished photographs.
Taken during his travels in WWII from 1940 and 1941. He visited and photographed such places as parks and farm settlements in Poland to meeting people in Romania and Bulgaria. Travelling on the Danube to Bulgaria to partake in parades until a day of action April, 1941 and the first dead in the Bavarian town of Kyustendil. Further on to making camp in Yugoslavia just prior to deploying to Greece, stopping in Turkey on to the port in Athens. Photographs from many tourist destinations in Athens are seen from the Parthenon in the Acropolis to the Temple of Athena Nike and the Herodes-Attikus Theatre and then the University of Athens and the Athens Stadium.
