GERMAN MGZ40 OPTICAL SIGHTS RUBBER EYE PIECE – SMALL – REPRODUCTION
Description
German WWII flared type rubber eye cup for the MGZ 40 sight that was used on the Lafette mount. The MGZ 40 sight was introduced after the MGZ sight and allowed the shooter to have their head lower and thus were less exposed when aiming through the sight .
Made from a good quality rubber as the original. The opening diameter is 24-23 mm.
German MGZ40 Optical Sight was intended for use with both the MG34 and MG42 machine guns, when they were mounted on a Lafette tripod. The MGZ40, was an improvement over the earlier MGZ34 scope, in that the ocular was positioned lower, to allow the gunner to keep a lower profile when aiming.
